An Austin-based ensemble, Mitote explores the vast musical terrains of Mexican traditional son but with a Chicano sensibility. Anchored by jarocho instrumentation, sounds, and rhythms, one may call Mitote’s music son jarocho, yet its base rests upon a deep affinity for all of Mexico’s son traditions in addition to popular musics beyond the confines of ‘Greater Mexico.’ [download press release or flyer]

Mice and Rifles, who came together as a whole in January 2006, released their sophomore effort, "Beginner's Luck " on December 14th.
